Shades of Prey is the culmination of a project called A Novel Experience which was initiated in Karachi, Pakistan, in order to utilize the writing talent of youth to indigenously produce quality fiction. Shades of Prey has been collaboratively written by six teenagers who have just recently begun their college education. The project was initiated by Saulat Pervez who faciliated the writing process as a mentor, and once all the chapters had been written, she compiled and edited them into a seamless novel.
Shades of Prey is a 52-chapter murder mystery set in Karachi. The book traverses the institutions of police, newspapers, television and NGOs, delivering a contemporary read.
